NOW HIRING: ENTRY LEVEL POSTIONS

Early recovery is a time of change. You’re rebuilding routines, learning how to show up for yourself again, and figuring out what comes next. For many people, work is part of that question. Not just a job, but something steady. Something meaningful. Something that can grow with you.
At Project Turnabout, we believe recovery can be the beginning of a career, not a barrier to one.
You Don’t Have to “Wait” to Start
For a long time, people in recovery were told they had to wait. Wait a certain number of years. Wait until everything felt perfect. Wait until someone else decided they were “ready.”
That’s no longer the rule.
Today, there is no required length of sobriety to apply for a position at a recovery center. What matters most is your willingness to grow, your commitment to showing up, and your desire to build a stable future. If you’re early in recovery and thinking, I want something more than just getting by, you’re not alone. And you don’t have to figure it out on your own.
Starting Where You Are
Many careers at Project Turnabout begin with entry-level roles. These positions are not “less than.” They are real work, essential to our programs, and often the first step in a longer journey.
Entry-level opportunities include roles such as:
- Human Services Technician, supporting clients in day-to-day recovery
- Housekeeping, helping maintain safe, welcoming spaces
- Maintenance, keeping facilities running smoothly
- Kitchen support, providing meals and structure that support healing
These roles offer stability, routine, and the chance to learn how a recovery center operates from the inside. More importantly, they allow you to begin building confidence and work experience while continuing your own recovery.
Creating a Career Plan, Not Just a Job
If you’re interested in becoming a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) or working in mental health long term, Project Turnabout can help you create a plan to get there.
That plan doesn’t start with school paperwork or tuition bills. It starts with conversations:
- What are your strengths?
- What kind of work are you curious about?
- What support do you need right now to be successful?
From there, we help you take practical steps. That can include preparing to go back to school, navigating applications, understanding licensure requirements, and building the confidence to see yourself as a professional, not just someone “in recovery.”
Support Along the Way
We know barriers are real. School costs money. Life doesn’t pause. Recovery requires stability.
That’s why Project Turnabout offers support that makes long-term goals possible. Depending on your role and eligibility, this may include:
- Help preparing for and applying to school
- Tuition assistance or reimbursement
- Paid work while gaining experience
- Mentorship and supervision
- A team that understands recovery because many have lived it
We don’t expect you to have everything figured out on day one. Growth happens step by step.
Turning Experience Into Purpose
Many of our staff members started exactly where you might be now. Early in recovery. Unsure. Hopeful but cautious. Over time, they turned lived experience into skill, education, and professional practice.
Recovery doesn’t disqualify you from helping others. In many cases, it’s what makes you uniquely capable.
If you’re looking for a place where your recovery is respected, where your future matters, and where you can build a career that lasts, Project Turnabout may be the place to start.
You don’t have to be finished becoming who you are to take the first step.
