RECOVERY STARTING POINTS

Medical withdrawal management

The first step for many is a plan to stop using substances safely.

GRANITE FALLS

Understanding Medical Detox and Withdrawal Care

Medical detox is often the first step in recovery for people whose bodies need support while stopping alcohol or other substances. Detox focuses on safety, comfort, and stabilization, helping your system regain balance so you can begin recovery with a clearer mind and steadier body. You do not need to know if detox is right before calling. Admissions and clinical staff help assess your needs and guide next steps.

  • What is medical detox?

Medical detox is short-term, medically supervised care that supports your body as it adjusts to stopping alcohol or other drugs. The goal is stabilization, safety, and comfort.

  • Why is medical detox important?

Withdrawal can be unpredictable and, in some cases, medically risky. Detox provides monitoring and clinical support to reduce complications and help you restabilize safely.

  • What happens during detox?

You receive a medical evaluation, ongoing monitoring, and support for withdrawal symptoms. Care focuses on safety, comfort, and helping your body regain balance.

  • Is detox painful?

Everyone’s experience is different. Medical detox is designed to reduce discomfort as much as possible and respond quickly if symptoms increase.

  • Who should consider medical detox?

Detox may be recommended if you have used substances regularly or heavily, experienced withdrawal before, feel unable to stop safely on your own, or have medical or mental health concerns. Admissions helps determine the right starting point.

  • How long does detox last and what comes next?

Detox is usually short-term and depends on the substance and your medical needs. Many people step into residential treatment or another level of care afterward. Admissions will help explain timelines and next steps.

Residential Recovery Treatment

This is a moment you can decide to change everything. We help you refocus and create a new plan for living.

GRANITE FALLS

Understanding Residential Treatment

Residential treatment provides a safe, structured environment for people who need time, support, and space to focus fully on recovery. Living on campus allows individuals to step away from daily pressures and distractions while building the skills and stability needed for lasting change.

Residential care focuses on creating routine, accountability, and connection. Through daily programming, counseling, and support, individuals begin addressing both substance use and mental health concerns while developing a clear plan for sober living. Admissions and clinical staff work with you to determine if residential treatment is the right next step and help guide you through what comes next.

  • What is residential treatment?

Residential treatment is 24-hour, on-campus care where you live at the treatment center while participating in daily recovery programming.

  • Who is residential treatment for?

Residential care may be helpful if you need a structured environment, have struggled to stop using on your own, or need support for mental health along with substance use.

  • What happens during residential treatment?

Days include individual counseling, group therapy, education, mental health services, wellness activities, and recovery support, all within a consistent daily routine.

  • How long does residential treatment last?

Length of stay varies based on individual needs, but our program often ranges from about 28 days to 60 days or longer when clinically appropriate.

  • Can family be involved during residential treatment?

Yes. Family education and participation are encouraged and help strengthen communication and support during recovery.

  • What happens after residential treatment?

Many people step down to transitional living, outpatient care, or another level of support. Staff help create a plan for continued recovery before discharge.
