Rest Is Recovery Too
“Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is rest.”
— Mark Black
SLEEP HEALS THE BODY AND MIND
In early recovery, your body is working hard to reset. It’s common to feel tired, restless, or struggle with sleep. That doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong—it means your body is healing. Prioritizing rest will give you the strength you need for the days ahead. Sleep is a part of recovery.
DID YOU KNOW?
Studies show that people who get 7–9 hours of sleep are 70% more likely to manage stress and cravings effectively than those who are sleep-deprived. Rest is medicine.
Practical Exercise
Tonight, set yourself up for better rest:
- Turn off screens 30 minutes before bed.
- Write down one worry or thought so it doesn’t keep circling in your head.
- Try a simple relaxation practice—slow breathing, stretching, or listening to calming music.
