Treatment Program for Chemically Dependent Men
Primary Care
Like all of our programs, the primary inpatient treatment program provides the necessary tools to begin the process of recovery. Beginning with a strong, realistic individual treatment plan and a thorough medical assessment, clients have an opportunity to discover some of the barriers in their life that may contribute to their inability to proceed with recovery. A team of professionals, including licensed counselors, physicians, nurses and psychologists, a chaplain and a physical fitness trainer make up the treatment team.
Individualized aftercare planning allows specific client goals to be addressed based on their vocational, social, educational, emotional, and spiritual needs. Aftercare planning is vital to the recovery process and may include referrals to a halfway house or other post primary treatment living facility that promotes an abstinent lifestyle as well as twelve step systems.
Extended Primary Care
For the chronic chemically dependent person, Project Turnabout's Extended Care program provides the additional time they need to stabilize and strengthen recovery. The decision to proceed into the Extended Care program is based on the physical condition of the patient and other assessments. In Extended Care, staff assists the patient with developing an individualized treatment and aftercare plan and emphasis is placed on maintaining a therapeutic atmosphere. The Extended Care counselor monitors the patient's progress throughout his treatment, which includes group therapy, one-to-one counseling, and an educational component, which is a significant part of the program. The patient also receives assistance developing support systems in the community through Alcoholics Anonymous, church, community activities, etc.
